CHICAGO — Pre-trial release has been denied for a Joliet man accused of threatening to plant bombs at a suburban Porsche warehouse.
Devan Sheard, a 32-year-old Joliet resident, has been charged with one count of disorderly conduct – false bomb threat, DuPage County State’s Attorney Robert Berlin announced Tuesday.

According to prosecutors, an investigation into the incident began on Dec. 28, after authorities learned that Sheard had allegedly shared a video on YouTube, in which he discussed planting improvised explosive devices (IEDs) inside the vehicles at the Napleton Porsche warehouse, located in the 700 block of Burr Oak Drive.
Prosecutors said in the video, which was allegedly created by Sheard, a former employee of the business, that he can be seen approaching multiple cars with their hoods up while asking, “Should I hide the IED over here?”

Additionally, prosecutors said in the video, Sheard can be seen setting the camera down while stating, “I’m planting the IED as we speak.” Later in the video, he is heard stating, “I did plant the IED in one of these vehicles,” and “If I’m going to go out, I’m going to go out with a bang!”

Westmont and DuPage County Sheriff’s Bomb Squads later searched the warehouse and Sheard’s home and found no bomb-making materials.
During a court appearance this week, Judge Anthony Coco granted the State’s motion to detain Sheard pre-trial.
Sheard is set to return to court on Jan. 26.
