DuPage County State’s Attorney Robert Berlin and Bensenville Chief of Police Bradley Swanson announced today that Judge Joshua Dieden has granted the State’s Motion to deny pre-trial release for a Cook County man with multiple felony convictions who was allegedly found to be in possession of a loaded handgun and approximately fourteen grams of Cocaine. Arizona Gould, 28 (d.o.b. 1/5/1998) of the 700 block of Suffolk Court, Streamwood, appeared in First Appearance Court this morning charged with one count of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Repeat Felony Offender (Class X Felony), two counts of Aggravated Unlawful Possession of a Weapon by a Felon (Class 2 Felony), one count of Aggravated Unlawful Possession of a Weapon – Loaded No FCCA or FOID card (Class 4 Felony), one count of Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance (Class 4 Felony) and multiple Misdemeanor offenses including Aggravated Assault on Public Property, Reckless Conduct and Disorderly Conduct.
On June 25, 2026, at approximately 12:40 p.m., Bensenville police officers responded to a call at the Amoco gas station, 101 W. Irving Park Road, for a report of a man with a firearm. The caller reported that a male driving a red Jeep had allegedly followed him into the parking lot and pointed a firearm at him. Upon their arrival, officers spoke with the victim and ultimately located the unoccupied Jeep parked at a nearby Subway restaurant. Following an investigation into the matter, it is alleged that after a near collision between Gould’s and the victim’s vehicles at a nearby intersection, the victim pulled into the Amoco and Gould followed him. It is alleged that while in the parking lot, the two exchanged words and that Gould pulled out a loaded handgun and pointed it at the victim. It is further alleged that after pointing the handgun at the victim, Gould left the area, went to a nearby Subway restaurant and went into the restroom. Detectives went to the Subway and waited outside the single-occupant restroom until Gould exited. Following a search of the restroom, detectives recovered a loaded Canik 9 mm pistol with one round in the chamber and eighteen rounds in the magazine in a garbage container underneath the plastic garbage bag. Gould was taken into custody at this time. It is further alleged that Gould was in possession of approximately fourteen grams of Cocaine at the time of his arrest.
“It is alleged that Mr. Gould, a man with multiple felony convictions and prohibited from legally owning a firearm, was not only illegally in possession of a loaded handgun, but also pointed that gun at another individual,” Berlin said. “The very thought that a man who has forfeited his right to own a firearm, pointed a loaded gun at another individual following a road-rage incident is extremely disturbing. This type of violent behavior will not be tolerated in DuPage County and will be met with the full force of the law. I thank the Bensenville Police Department for their outstanding work in locating the defendant and removing an illegally possessed weapon from our streets. I also thank Assistant State’s Attorneys Sandi Tanoue and Kelsey Kerr for their efforts in preparing a strong case against Mr. Gould.”

Gould’s next court appearance is scheduled for July 20, 2026, in front of Judge Brian Telander.
