Joan Ann Funk

Joan Ann Funk, nee Reissen, 77, of Mascoutah, IL born Sept. 3, 1948 in Belleville, IL died Thursday, Feb. 12, 2026, at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital, O’Fallon, IL.

Joan was a retired school teacher from Henry Raab School where she taught first grade her entire career. She loved to travel with her friends. Joan was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Shiloh, Delta Kappa Gama, Bridge Club, Book Clubs, wine tasting groups, and AND Group.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Area, nee, Stapp, and her husband, Darrel F. “Doc” Funk who died Sept. 28, 2015.

Joan is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Funk and husband, Daniel Johnson; three grandchildren, Sydney, Cole, and Darcy; a sister, Mary Beth Reissen, SSND; dear friends, Mark Press and family and Rich (Sherry) Koch and family; dear family members, many dear friends; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

VISITATION: From 4 to 8 PM Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2026, at Moll Funeral Home in Mascoutah, IL.

FUNERAL:  A funeral Mass will be held 10 AM Thursday, Feb. 19, 2026, at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, Shiloh, IL with Father Paul Wienhoff celebrating. Burial will follow in Mascoutah City Cemetery, Mascoutah, IL.
