The Morton High School Marching Band premiered their 2025 show, “The Flip Side,” winning first in their class at the Marching Panther Invitational held on Saturday, September 6, 2025, in Washington, IL.
Competing against 25 bands, including two in the top class, Morton also earned the title Grand Champion, along with caption awards for best color guard and best percussion in their class.
“We’re incredibly proud of the students,” says Co-Director Katrina Fitzpatrick. “Not only for the performance, but more importantly the way they rehearsed leading up to the performance.”
The Morton High School Marching Band’s season continues with five more major competitions including:
· IVC Grey Ghost Classic – September 20
· Illinois State Marching Championships (Illinois State University) – October 11
· Bands of America St. Louis Super Regional – October 17-18
· Illinois Marching Band Championships (University of Illinois) – October 25
· Bands of America Grand National Championships – November 13-15
In addition, Morton will host their own invitational on Saturday, September 27, at Morton High School’s Carper Field, where 15 bands from across Illinois are scheduled to compete. The band will perform their show, “The Flip Side,” in exhibition. Gates open at 3 p.m. Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for seniors and K-12 students.
