Demolition began last month at the former Signode Campus, a 56-acre industrial site, at 3600 to 3700 West Lake Avenue, near Glenbrook South High School, which was purchased in November 2025 by the village of Glenview for $23.375 million. The project has an expected completion date in December.
“The Village has hired Teska Associates to lead the master planning process,” Glenview Community Engagement Director David Just said on Tuesday. “That is starting now, likely this fall, the village (with Teska) will host a series of open houses to present options to the public and gather feedback.”
Just said Teska was paid $24,270, less than the $25,000 that would require the contract to come before village trustees for review.
Initial concepts for the site, still in the preliminary stages, include a multi-faceted recreation space with potential for playgrounds, athletic fields, sports facilities, racquet sports, parks, trails, natural areas, and open space.

The Glenview Park District and other developers are expected to reimburse the village for the costs, a village press release released in November said.

Glenview village trustees approved a contract not to exceed $49,900 with Carlson Environmental in December for a Phase Two limited subsurface assessment of the former Signode property.

he site is also near a fenced-off area designated as Site 26 – Western Landfill – NAS Glenview, which is owned by the Navy. Glenview Development Director Jeff Brady said during the Dec. 2 meeting that the adjacent Navy site could be considered during the Carlson study, although it is not part of the former Signode property.
