Of Naperville Central High School graduates who enrolled at Illinois community colleges in the 2024-25 school year, 11.9% took at least one remedial course, according to data from the Illinois State Board of Education.
Two years earlier, the school’s four-year graduation rate stood at 96.8%.
Specifically, 11.9% of those former students enrolled in remedial math.
Additionally, 88.4% of the school’s graduates enrolled in two- or four-year college within 12 months of graduating from high school, above the statewide rate.

Illinois’ fiscal year 2027 budget provides $9.3 billion through the state’s Evidence-Based Funding formula for K-12 schools, an increase of $350 million from the previous year. It also boosts funding for mandated categorical programs by $68 million, bringing the total to $1.2 billion and adding support for costs including special education, student transportation and school meals.
Illinois offers a state child tax credit to taxpayers who qualify for the Illinois Earned Income Tax Credit and have at least one qualifying child under age 12. For tax year 2025, the credit equals 40% of a taxpayer’s Illinois Earned Income Tax Credit rather than a fixed amount per child.
