BURGLARY THWARTED: A car reported stolen Oct. 1 from a residence in the 8100 block of Mulligan Avenue was returned at 2:45 a.m. Oct. 2 and three individuals in it used an automatic door opener to access the home’s attached garage, police said. But the trio fled in the car after a neighbor yelled at them, police said.
Evergreen Park
UPSKIRT VIDEO: Christian D. Armstead, 19, Chicago, was charged Sept. 22 with unauthorized video recording of a woman after using a cellphone to surreptitiously record up-the-skirt images of a woman at a department store in the 9600 block of Western Avenue, police said.
SEX OFFENDER: Ezell Williams, 61, Chicago, was arrested during a Sept. 28 investigation in the 3200 block of 95th Street and subsequently charged with failing to register as a sex offender, police said. Williams was convicted in Cook County of an undisclosed sexual crime against a 16-year-old when he was 19, according to the Illinois Sex Offender Registry, which identifies him as a sexual predator.
Frankfort
Eric C. Havens, 57, 18500 block of Lexington Avenue, Homewood, appeared in court Oct. 29 charged with disorderly conduct and obstructing an investigation, according to Will County court records online. Havens is accused of taking inappropriate photos at a girls volleyball game and fled the Lincoln-Way East High School’s school resource officer, Will County sheriff’s police said.
Homewood
IDENTITY THEFT: Leticia Blunt, 37, 2500 block of Locust Road, Homewood, was arrested Sept. 17 in that block and accused of identity theft after using the identity of another person to open an account without that person’s knowledge, police said.
New Lenox
CHILD PORNOGRAPHY: Jacob T. Briggs, 22, 1200 block of Timber Place, New Lenox, is scheduled to appear in Will County court Nov. 6 charged with possessing pornographic images of children younger than 13, according to court records online. Detectives arrested Briggs after executing a search warrant at his home after a three-month investigation, police said.
Oak Lawn
AGGRAVATED BATTERY: Jose D. Gomez-Ortega, 22, Chicago, was arrested during a Sept. 27 two-vehicle crash investigation in the 9700 block of Cicero Avenue and subsequently charged with aggravated battery to a police officer, aggravated drunken driving and driving without a license, police said. Gomez hit one officer, spit in a second officer’s face and bit a third officer’s forearm, police said.
GUN POSSESSION: Daniel A. Baffoe, 65, 10000 block of Pulaski Road, Oak Lawn, was charged with aggravated unlawful use of a weapon Oct. 4 in that block after displaying a .357 magnum revolver during an argument, police said.
GUN POSSESSION: Jonathan J. Portugal, 21, Danville, is scheduled to appear in Cook County court at Bridgeview Nov. 25 charged with unlawful use of a weapon, police said. Portugal was arrested Oct. 7 after officers recovered an immediately accessible 9 mm pistol and loaded magazine during a stop in the 9300 block of Pulaski Road and determined he lacked a concealed carry license, police said.
Orland Park
GUN POSSESSION: Jeremiah Hirsch, 23, 3400 block of Kings Road, Steger, is scheduled to appear in Cook County court at Bridgeview Oct. 30, charged with unlawful possession of a weapon, police said. Hirsch was arrested Oct. 7 after officers recovered a loaded 9 mm pistol and loaded magazine during a stop in the 15800 block of LaGrange Road, police said.
DUI CRASH: Janessa Gertz, 45, Palatine, is scheduled to appear in Cook County court at Bridgeview Nov. 24, charged with drunken driving, failing to reduce speed to avoid a collision and failing to provide proof of insurance, police said. Gertz was arrested during an Oct. 9 two-vehicle crash investigation at 135th Street and Southwest Highway, police said.
Park Forest
AGGRAVATED BATTERY: Razhiana D. Brown, 31, 300 block of Sauk Trail, Park Forest, was arrested Oct. 4 and accused of aggravated battery after driving off the road, onto a sidewalk and into an acquaintance who had thrown her other car keys down a sewer during an argument, police said. The victim, who was flipped over the car, was taken to a hospital with leg injuries, police said.
REVOKED DUI: Henry L. Seals Jr., 44, Chicago, was charged with aggravated drunken driving and driving on a revoked license following an Oct. 13 traffic stop at Sauk Trail and Orchard Drive, police said.
University Park
GUN POSSESSION: George B. Thomas, 28, Lafayette, Indiana, appeared in Will County court Oct. 16, charged with aggravated unlawful possession of a weapon and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, according to court records online. An officer responding to a Sept. 28 complaint in the 500 block of Circlewood Drive, interrupted Thomas and an acquaintance wrestling and learned Thomas had threatened the man while displaying a loaded .40 caliber handgun equipped with a loaded magazine, police said.
