Williamsburg, Va. – The Chicago State men’s golf team finished seventh at the NEC Championships held at Kingsmill Golf Club. The Cougars, participating in their first NEC golf championship, posted a three-round score of 912 ( 292-309-311—912), 28 strokes ahead of Maryland-Eastern Shore who finished in eight place.
The Cougars were led by Payton Dunahee who finished tied for 11th. Dunahee was consistent throughout the tournament with a three-round score of 220 (73-73-73—220) placing just outside of the top-ten. Teammate Julian Colavecchia also finished in the top 25, placing 23rd with a three-day score of 226 including shooting an opening round 69.
The Cougars will hit the links on last time in 2025 at the PGAWorks in Kohler, Wisconsin at Whistling Straits Golf Course May 5-7.
