The honors keep coming in for Chicago State University volleyball standout Patrycja Lagida who today was named an Honorable Mention 2024 American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Division I All-American. Lagida was named All-Midwest Region Honorable Mention by the AVCA on December 10.
To date, Lagida, a sophomore outside hitter from Chotomow, Poland, has earned both 2024 AVCA Division I All-American and All-Midwest Region Honorable Mention selections after earning 2024 Northeast Conference (NEC) Player of the Year, NEC First Team All-Conference and NEC Tournament MVP.
Lagida is the second Chicago State volleyball player to earn AVCA recognition. Yanlis Feliz was selected as a Division I All-America honorable mention in 2021.
Her efforts helped lead Chicago State to a 19-10 record, the most single-season wins in program history, as well as regular-season and NEC Tournament championships. The Cougars finished conference play with a 13-1 record and recorded 10 three-set sweeps, winning 45 of the 54 sets played in NEC competition.
“Patrycja has been the cornerstone of our success this season,” head coach Tony Trifonov said. “Her recognition as an AVCA Honorable Mention All-American is a testament to her hard work, skill and leadership. Her ability to consistently perform at such a high level has elevated our program to new heights. She embodies what it means to be a student-athlete and I’m incredibly proud of her contributions to our team and the legacy she’s building here at Chicago State.”
