Community Spotlight: Creating Connections and Inspiring Achievement

At NYCM Insurance, we believe that the strongest communities are built through
connection, compassion, and care. One organization that embodies those same
values is Achieve, a nonprofit organization that provides skill
advancement, inclusion, independence, and socialization to more than 2,200
individuals with developmental and other disabilities in Broome, Chenango, and
Tioga counties.

Sensory equipment donated by NYCM Insurance

NYCM Insurance has proudly supported Achieve for nearly a decade and in 2025 was
excited to provide sensory equipment to enhance the experience for participants
at Achieve’s “Envisions” day habilitation facility in Norwich. Earlier this
summer, NYCM Insurance Event Coordinator Logan Thompson visited Envisions to see
firsthand the new equipment installed in the NYCM-sponsored recreation room.

According to Achieve’s CEO Amy Howard, this equipment is already making
a difference, supporting individuals with intellectual and physical
disabilities by strengthening motor skills, boosting focus, fostering
communication, and more.

“NYCM’s
continued generosity and commitment to our community has made a meaningful
impact on the individuals we serve,” said Howard. “Their recent enhancements to
the sensory room at Envisions help create more inclusive, engaging spaces where
people can thrive.
We’re truly grateful for this partnership.”

“When we invest in organizations like Achieve, we’re investing in the heart of our communities,” said NYCM President & CEO Cheryl Robinson. “Their work aligns with our North Star values of offering hope, care, and courage to individuals and families. We’re proud to help create environments where everyone has the chance to shine.”
