The village of Rosemont is inviting residents and visitors to explore the community in a whole new way this fall with the announcement of installation locations for “Rosemont in Bloom: Where Art Takes Root,” a new public art initiative celebrating the village’s 70th anniversary.
Beginning Sept. 10, 20 eight-foot rose sculptures, each designed and painted by a local professional artist, school art program or nonprofit arts organization, will be installed throughout Rosemont. Together, the larger-than-life sculptures will transform the village into an open-air gallery, creating a colorful “seek-and-find” experience that encourages residents and visitors to explore Rosemont while discovering each one-of-a-kind work of art.
The sculptures will be installed at highly visible locations throughout the community, including parks, entertainment venues and public spaces. Featured installation sites include:
- Donald E. Stephens Convention Center (5555 N. River Rd.)
- Dunne Park (9499 Glenlake St.)
- Outdoor Walking Paths Along Higgins Road & Scott Street
- The Pearl District (9870 Berwyn Ave.)
- Rosemont Theatre (5400 N. River Rd.)
- Rosemont Village Hall (9501 Technology Blvd.)
Additional sculptures will be installed at other to-be-determined locations throughout the village.
“Rosemont has spent 70 years creating a community where people want to gather and connect,” said Rosemont Mayor Brad Stephens. “Rosemont in Bloom continues that tradition, using art to create another shared experience for our residents and the millions of people who visit Rosemont each year.”
