Estate of woman killed in boat crash near McHenry hires law firm, plans to sue 'all ...

A Chicago law firm announced Monday it intends to file a wrongful death lawsuit in the Fox River crash near McHenry that killed a Des Plaines woman.

“GWC Injury Lawyers, LLC announced today that it will file a wrongful death lawsuit on behalf of the Estate of Magdalena Jablonska, who was tragically killed, and her fiancé, Alen Telmini, who was injured, in a boating collision on the Fox River,” a news release from the law firm stated. “The lawsuit will seek to hold all responsible parties accountable.”

The release stated the law firm may hold a press conference Thursday at their Chicago office.

Richard M. Stevenson, 45, of Lisle is being held in the McHenry County jail and is charged with reckless homicide and aggravated DUI in Jablonska’s death. He worked as a vice president in his mother’s crane company in Bolingbrook until he was terminated following the crash.

Stevenson is accused of being nearly three times the legal limit of alcohol and driving his three-engine boat 80 mph when he struck and killed Jablonska in front of her fiancé.

His alcohol level was .236 after the crash, nearly three times the legal limit, authorities said.
