WOODRIDGE, Ill. (WGN) – A Lombard man has been charged after he allegedly touched a minor girl inappropriately at a Woodridge water park.
The DuPage County State’s Attorney’s Office said just after 5:30 p.m. Friday, 61-year-old Ricky Karlic “made physical contact of an insulting or provoking nature” with the victim. It is alleged Karlic touched the victim’s buttocks with his hand while in the lazy river at Cypress Cove Waterpark.
Karlic appeared in court Saturday morning and was charged with one count of aggravated battery in a public place.

Since the charge is not detainable, a judge ordered Karlic released with conditions requiring he have no contact with the victim or any minors under the age of 18. He is also not allowed to enter to stay on the property or premises of Cypress Cove Waterpark.

Woodridge Chief of Police Tom Stefanson issued the following statement:
“While this incident is concerning, Woodridge and its parks are safe areas for all to enjoy. I appreciate the alert from Park District staff and the quick response of Woodridge police officers and detectives in locating the suspect who was trying to leave the area. I also appreciate the hard work and guidance from DuPage County State’s Attorney Bob Berlin and his excellent staff.”
Karlin’s next court appearance has been scheduled for Monday, Aug. 3.
