After a Red Bulls’ defensive mistake, midfielder David Poreba pounced on the loose ball and found forward Jason Shokalook, who scored three minutes after kickoff.
Defender Christopher Cupps delivered a long ball to a sprinting Shokalook, who cut back onto his left foot and buried the ball past goalkeeper Tobias Szewczyk for a 2-0 lead in the 13th minute.
A minute into the second half, substitute Dean Boltz scored from outside of the box, putting away a feed from midfielder Damyan Villanueva for what proved to be the final tally of the match.
Chicago goalkeeper Jason Nemo Jr. recorded the clean sheet.
Midfielder Deven Cadigan wore the Red Bulls I’s armband for the first time in his Red Bulls II career.
