Skowronska and King Voted to NEC Second Team All-Conference

CHICAGO, Ill. – The NEC has released their women’s tennis postseason awards for the 2026 season. Chicago State’s Karolina Skowronska and Mackenzie King were voted by the head coaches in the conference to both the NEC Second Team All-Conference. Skowronska was voted to both the Second Team for both singles and doubles, while King was voted to the Second Team on the doubles side. 

Karolina Skowronska demonstrated remarkable skill and consistency throughout the season, achieving an overall singles record of 12-13. Notably, she excelled in her role as the team’s number one singles player, finishing with a balanced 10-10 record in number one singles and finished with an undefeated 4-0 record in conference play.

In doubles competition, Skowronska achieved a 14-16 record across three different doubles partners. Skowronska’s primary doubles partner was with Mackenzie King. King finished the season with an 11-19 doubles record with four different doubles pairings. 

As doubles partners, Karolina Skowronska and Mackenzie King secured an 11-8 overall record, with an impressive 3-1 performance in conference play. Skowronska and King finished with a 4-4 record together in duel matches earning them with the fourth best record in the NEC enough to earn them the title of NEC Second Team All-Conference. 

Skowronska and King become the first Cougar women’s tennis player to earn an NEC Postseason Recognition. Karolina Skowronska also adds two NEC Player of the Week Awards and Five NEC Primer Performer Recognitions on the season. The Cougars have officially completed their first tennis season in the NEC and will now gear up for the 2026-27 season.
