The family of Paul A. Hennecke is deeply saddened to announce his passing on February 14, 2026, in Toledo, Ohio, at the age of 83. Paul was born in Quincy, but considered Havana to be his hometown. He graduated from Havana High School and earned undergraduate and law degrees from Valparaiso University in Indiana. Paul was a devoted husband and father. His passing leaves behind his wife of more than fifty years, Sau. They met and fell in love during his Army service in Vietnam. After completing his tour, Paul returned to Vietnam to reunite with Sau. Paul later adopted Sau’s daughter, Kim, whom he loved and cherished. The family, along with his sister-in-law, Kristen, eventually returned to Havana. Paul was the elder of two brothers, and his brother, John, his spouse, Jan, and their children, Aaron and Audra. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Kristen, and her spouse, Luis, and their children, Jennifer, Sara, and John. His parents, Albert and Bertha Hennecke, preceded him in death. Paul was a member of the Lutheran faith throughout his life. The family would appreciate remembrances and prayers. Graveside Service: 1:00 pm, Tuesday, February 24, 2026 at Camp Butler National Cemetery where military honors will be conducted. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to Hospice of Northwest Ohio. This nonprofit organization helped provide Paul with a peaceful passing and supported the family through the end-of-life process. Share stories & photos at StaabObituary.com
