CHICAGO (WLS) — Snow and dangerous cold are heading for the Chicago area this weekend.
ABC7 Chicago AccuWeather Meteorologist Tracy Butler says Friday will stay cloudy before snow moves in during the evening hours. Most of the area will see a dusting into early Saturday morning, but areas south of Interstate 80 could see a couple inches of snow.

Snow is expected to continue falling on Saturday, with the forecast trending southward, said ABC7 Chicago AccuWeather Meteorologist Larry Mowry. The best chance of accumulating snow will be south of I-80. But there is some wiggle room with the system, so it could push back to the north and give areas closer to the city a higher snow total.
ABC7 meteorologists have issued an AccuWeather Alert for the weekend’s bitter cold.
Temperatures will be in the low teens and single digits during the day on Saturday. On Saturday evening, temperatures will drop below zero with windchills of -20 to -30.
Sunday morning, ahead of the Chicago Bears game at Soldier Field, will be the coldest part of the weekend.

While winds may relax on Sunday afternoon, it will still be bitterly cold. During the game, wind chills will be anywhere from -5 to -10.
But there is light at the end of the tunnel. A warming trend is expected next week, and temperatures may climb into the 40s by Wednesday.
