On Monday, September 22nd, Benedictine University opened its doors to a new group of learners: the students and staff of Beacon House Preparatory School. The elementary program serves children from preschool through fifth grade, including students as young as three years old.

“For the duration of the semester, the school will hold classes on the fourth floor of Kindlon Hall, bringing new energy and a spirit of curiosity to our campus community,” stated Dean of Students Marco Masini.

Currently, Beacon House is home to 50 students, guided by a dedicated team that includes six teachers, one teaching assistant, an office administrator, and Principal Sidhra Jakvani, a Benedictine alum of the Class of 2017.

The presence of younger students on campus serves as a reminder of the lifelong journey of education. From the earliest stages of learning to the advanced scholarship of university study, education builds bridges between generations. Having Beacon House students here allows us to see the joy and curiosity of learning in its earliest stages; while reminding us of the responsibility we carry as role models.

“Please show your Benedictine Hospitality as they spend time on our campus for the semester,” said Masini. You can reach him with any questions at: [email protected]
