Geraldine Lucille “Jerry” Gorden, 91 of Taylorville, passed away on Thursday, September 11, 2025, at Taylorville Memorial Hospital. She was born on October 30, 1933, in Kincaid, the daughter of Andrew and Ruth (Dougherty) Bringuet. She married Thomas Samuel “Sam” Ringler, and he preceded her in death. Jerry later married Keith Gorden and he also preceded her in death. Jerry was an active member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and worked as a volunteer at Taylorville Memorial Hospital for many years.

She is survived by her children: Mark Ringler (Barbara) of New Berlin, Karen Anderson-Bowlin of Colliersville, Tennessee, Sheryl Murray (Ben) of Macon, and Brian Ringler (Carole) of Mt. Auburn; grandchildren: Valeri Carlton (Shawn), Stephanie Norman (Daniel), Andrea Kuhlman (Dan), Alisha Riggen (Chris), Mitch Ringler (Lyndsey), and Lanae Wilhelmi (Chris); and 11 great grandchildren. Along with two husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents.

Jerry will be cremated, and a memorial mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Taylorville with Fr. John Burnette officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. and a private family inurnment will take place in the Old Stonington Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Christian County Senior Citizens Center. McClure Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Taylorville is assisting the family with arrangements.
