Perkinson appointed to fill Iroquois County Board District 2 vacancy

A new Iroquois County Board member was appointed at the July 9 regular meeting.

Iroquois County Board Chairman John Shure read the resolution appointing Kathleen J. Perkinson too filled the vacancy in District II. Perkinson replaces Barbara Offill, who passed a way Jan. 4.

Offill would have served her full term until Nov. 30, 2026. Perkinson will serve until Nov. 30, 2024. The resolution says that the remainder of Offill’s unexpired term, which will be from Dec. 1, 2024 to Nov. 30, 2026, will be determined by the Nov. 5 General Election.

Perkinson was sworn in by Iroquois County Clerk Breein Suver and then participated in the July 9 meeting.
